07-18-11 / Just got back from a refreshing vacation with my family. A couple in my church was getting married in Arizona and wanted me to perform the ceremony. They blessed us with our travel and a place to stay, so it was a very affordable vacation :) As you can see from the pic my family got to go and see the Grand Canyon. Of course we’ve all seen pictures and probably seen it on TV, but to see it in person is dope! God is an incredible artist! My family also got to connect with a new friend of mine, David Vasquez and his wife Sophia. We checked out their brand new campus at In Him Church in Phoenix. Our family also got to go have dinner with The Jurewicz family who I grew up with in Philly. Our families go way back, so it was awesome to be able to spend some time with them and catch up. They are truly lifetime friends. The Wedding on Saturday was beautiful as it was on a golf course in the mountainous desert. My daughters were even the flower girls and my wife also did a scripture reading and prayer as part of the ceremony - so it was a family event! My girls had a great time dancing at the reception. They love to dance!
One thing I really took from the trip is that my family is my first ministry. I know that and I practice that, but I can’t forget it as my daughters get older and my church grows. I don’t want to miss out on anything in their lives and I want them to grow to love God even more and follow His plan for their lives. It’s good to be back home - refreshed, refueled and ready to GO HARD for what God has next!
